Yeast-free bread is the only form of bread that is recommended in the diet. Because as the dough grows from the yeast, so does our body. Our body reacts to yeast the same, it grows, flourishes, and expands on an unprecedented scale.
At the same time, yeast bread is difficult to digest, which additionally slows down our metabolism and makes us feel tired, slow, sluggish, and sleepy. Most nutritionists recommend giving up bread, if possible, but if you can’t at least eat bread without yeast.
Usually, yeast-free bread is fermented bread. Today we will present you three easiest yeast-free bread recipes that you can make at home.
Yeast Free Bread Recipes
- Irish Baking Soda Bread
You will need the following ingredients:
- 3 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 ½ cups of buttermilk
- ½ teaspoon sea salt (fine)
First, mix the baking soda, flour, and salt in a bowl. Turn the oven on and preheat it on 230 degrees Celsius. Make a small circle inside the bowl and pour the buttermilk in it. Mix the ingredients with your hands, so you can get a dough that is soft but not sticky. Sprinkle a little bit of flour and knead the dough. In the end, transfer the dough into a baking pan that is lined with a baking sheet. Pat it a little bit with your hands and cut a cross in the center. Then, put the pan in the oven and bake it for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius and leave it for half an hour. Your bread is done, when it gets nice brownish crust.
- Beer Yeast Free Bread
For this bread you will need:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 10 g baking powder (1 sachet)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 330 ml of beer of your choosing (dark beers are better)
- 50 g butter
Preheat the oven on 180 C. Line a 30 x 11 cm baking tray with baking paper. Pour flour and salt into a large bowl, and then add the baking powder, honey, and beer. Mix the ingredients with a food processor several times to combine them. Afterward, pour the dough into the prepared pan. Cut the butter into slices and arrange it on the surface of the bread.
In the end, place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the surface of the bread is golden yellow.
- Yeast Free Whey Bread
You will need:
- 200 g cornflour
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g barley flour
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin and sunflower seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder (1 sachet)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 700 ml whey (lukewarm)
Pour the all-purpose flour and the baking powder in a bowl. Then, add the cornflour, barley flour, the pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and salt in the bowl. Finally, pour one tablespoon of olive oil and the whey. Knead the dough well until it stops sticking to the work surface. Leave the dough to rest for about 15 minutes. Afterward, grease a baking tray, and sprinkle it with flour. Spread the dough with a rolling pin about 2 cm thick. Before baking, pierce the dough with a fork so that the crust does not come off. Bake the dough in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
