6 Things That Do At Home Can Accelerate The Healing Process Of A Bruise

The bruises that arise after an awkward kick usually into the corner of a home element like a cabinet or door, we all want to get rid of them as soon as possible. No big deal. Although you cannot get rid of them overnight, you can accelerate the process with these couple of natural tricks.

How To Heal Bruises At Home

Vinegar and water

Mix vinegar and hot water in a ratio of 50 to 50 and gently rub the area that has a bruise. These two ingredients will encourage circulation below the skin’s surface and affect the absorption of blood collected or disappearing faster.

Arnika gel

For years, this gel has been used for healing bruises. This plant stimulates circulation, accelerates wound healing, and softens the skin. Apply it gently on your bruise to heal it more quickly.

Compresses made of vegetables

Some vegetables can alleviate and speed up the disappearance of the hideous bruise. You can use any of these vegetables: cabbage, onions, and tomatoes. Red onion is excellent for bruises as it relieves pain and has anti-inflammatory properties. To soften the bruise, put the chopped onion into a gauze and place it to the point of impact.

You can do the same with cabbage or tomatoes. After this natural treatment, the bruise should be smaller and will heal faster.


The word stands for rest, ice, compress and elevate. You should rest the area that has a bruise on and put ice which you should secure with elastic band.  Moreover, keep the place elevated to enable proper blood flow.

Additionally, you can use iced parsley on that area. What you need to do is fill the ice tray with water and in each cube put a couple of leaves of parsley. Put it in the ice tray in the freezer and use one cube of it whenever there is a need for.


The pineapple has an enzyme bromelain with which it actually helps in the recovery of bruises. You can take it as a supplement 3 times daily 250-400 mg. You can certainly eat it, however, this is usually not enough in these situations. There is also a bromelin gel that you can apply topically on the bruise.


Acetaminophen is a painkiller that can help you if the bruise becomes too painful. You shouldn’t take ibuprofen or aspirin because they act as blood thinners making your capillary under your skin more vulnerable to bleeding.

Extra tip: In order to make the bruises disappear faster, take enough vitamin C. It stimulates the formation of collagen and the renewal of the skin that protects the blood vessels. Collagen is present in your hands and feet, so bruises in these areas are more frequent and darker.


Note:  However, if bruises appear on your body for no apparent reason with some of the symptoms like blood in the stool or urine, nose bleeding, vomiting, cough and prolonged menstruation, be sure to contact your doctor.
