Vodka is a popular alcoholic drink, enjoyed by many people either on its own or in cocktails. It’s one of those drinks that mixes very well with other beverages and creates exciting drinks.
Other than being an enjoyable drink, vodka is very useful for a variety of reasons, most of which I bet you’ve probably never thought of. Here we show you a few reasons why you should invest in a bottle of vodka at home, even if you don’t drink alcohol.
1. Treating Toothache
Having a toothache that just won’t go away? Before you make a visit to your dentist, you can ease the pain with this alcoholic spirit. Apply some vodka onto a cotton ball and place it on your gums, right above the aching tooth. After a while, you’ll start to feel some relief from the pain.
But, be careful! This does not help solve the problem behind the toothache. Thus, you should visit your dentist as soon as possible.
2. Foot Deodorizer
Stinky feet can put you in an awkward, embarrassing situation. And, we all know that having stinky feet is not always connected to poor hygiene. No matter how clean you are, you could easily be a victim of stinky feet. Well, despair not! You can solve your problem with a little bit of Russian alcoholic spirit! All you have to do is mix vodka in some water, pour it in a spray bottle, and use the mixture to clean your smelly shoes. Et voilà! Now you have a pair of fresh, stink free shoes!
3. Cleaning Showers
Because the shower is regularly wet, moist and humid, it’s vulnerable to mold, which can be such a pain. To keep the mold at bay in your shower, spray some vodka all over it. On the shower curtain, wall tiles, floor, and even fixtures and fittings.
4. Repelling Insects
One of the reasons I can never enjoy camping is insects. They just never give me a break. However, since I discovered how effective vodka is at repelling insects, life has gotten much easier. All you have to do is mix it up with lavender, basil or any other herbs or sweet smelling oils. Spray the mixture onto your exposed skin and the insects will stay away. You can use the leftovers to make some exciting shots and to have some fun.
5. Keeping Hair Clean And Healthy
If you’re prone to dandruff, then vodka is the right solution for you. Simply mix one shot of this alcoholic drink with one glass of water and use the mixture to rinse your hair, after your normal washing routine.
Also, you can add a little vodka into the hair conditioner, containing a lower pH value. This will help in untangling your hair and giving it a beautiful shine, if used at least once a week.
6. Removing Stains From Upholstery
It’s not uncommon for old upholstery to be riddled with old stains, which your regular upholstery cleaner is not effective enough to eliminate. Dip a cleaning cloth in vodka, and use it to rub the stains out. This hack works for me every time.
Now you know what else you can do with this Russian alcoholic spirit apart from drinking it!
