The first time I saw this recipe, I fell in love with the ingredients: avocado, chocolate, almond flour, and cinnamon! Yum, how delicious! Plus, it’s without dairy or eggs! Right away I knew that this vegan avocado chocolate cake is my next birthday cake!
First, let’s see the ingredients.
The avocado fruit is very high in monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. Studies show that these fats can help reduce the risk of heart disease and lower the cholesterol levels. In addition, a balanced meal that includes good fats can also help keep your body satiated longer after meals, which is important when it comes to weight control. On the other hand, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can strengthen your immune system, and contribute to the health of your skin and eyes.
When it comes to dark chocolate, we know that it’s a very powerful antioxidant, which reduces the amount of free radicals and other destructive molecules that are usually associated with various diseases. Numerous studies also show that dark chocolate is good for lowering high blood pressure.
Cinnamon is an excellent spice for preparing various types of desserts. Its distinctive smell and taste is very much in line with almost all kinds of cakes and teas. And best of all, it contributes to the health of the entire organism. Namely, cinnamon is good for the health of the heart, for weight loss, and it helps treat depression and improve mood.
Almond flour is particularly popular with people who are gluten intolerant. It’s made exclusively of almonds, which are first blanched and then processed in a coffee bean grinder, or food processor.
This flour is especially rich in vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body’s cells from the damage caused by the excessive amounts of free radicals. Some studies link the increased intake of vitamin E with a lower chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and malignancy.
Magnesium is yet another important ingredient of almond flour. The main role of this mineral is the activation of numerous enzymes, involved in the creation of energy in the human body. Also, it’s important for the heart function, muscle contraction, and the health of the nervous system. Magnesium also participates in bone mineralization, and is essential for the health and vitality of the entire body.
