Arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the joints. This disease is classified as an autoimmune disease: the immune system cells in the joints identify as foreign and begin to attack themselves that leads to swelling, redness, pain, and loss of function in the affected joint.
This condition is not curable for now and you will probably have it for the rest of your life. However, don’t panic you can still treat it and ease the pain and inflammation naturally. For starters, you can make this natural cream that soothes the inflammation along with the pain.
Proper nutrition in arthritis is of great importance for every patient. Remember to increase the intake of omega 3 fatty acid. You should consume fish, flax seeds, and nuts that contain omega 3 fatty acid. The omega 3 fatty acid reduces the discomfort throughout the body, especially for the inflammatory processes in the joints.
So let’s begin.
Homemade Cream For Joint Pain And Arthritis
This cream, which you can do without any trouble in your home, is based on hot peppers that contain a substance called capsaicin. What hotter the pepper the more capsaicin it contains. Perhaps lubrication of something so spicy on the skin does not sound like the best option but believe it is very effective. Capsaicin exhausts neurotransmitters known as substance P, which is to blame for sending pain signs to your brain, and if we block this substance then we do not percept the pain signal and therefore we do not feel it.
As an alternative to store-bought cream for arthritis, you can make it yourself, and save money.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 45 grams of ground peppers, chili powder or cayenne peppers ( the spicier the better)
- A cup of olive oil (almonds, jojoba or melted coconut oil)
- 64 grams (8 tablespoons) of beeswax (grated)
Mix the chili powder with the oil of your choosing. Then, place it on steam for 5-10 minutes on medium-high temperature and add wax. Stir until the wax completely melts and until the mixture combines. Cool the cream in the fridge for 10 minutes. Afterward, stir it once again. Place in the fridge for another 10-15 minutes, and mix again. Transfer the resulting mixture into a glass jar. Keep the cream in the fridge and use it for 10 days whenever the pain starts to kick in.
It is normal for the skin to get irritated the first time you use this cream if you have very sensitive skin. And also be careful how to use this cream, make sure it does not come into contact with your eyes.
