Window cleaners and various other chemicals can damage your flat TV or monitor. Cleaning your TV or monitor seems simple and many of us are not even thinking about it. We just get a napkin and a window cleaner and we are done for a second. However, such products may contain compounds that can damage modern screens that come with different special coatings. The first thing manufacturers warn about is to turn off the device from the power supply and wipe the first dust from the TV or monitor with a dry cloth – the one that comes with the device or microfiber cloth that doesn’t leave marks. Namely, abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels and similar items can damage the screen.

How To Clean Your Flat Screen Without Damaging It

  1. Dishwashing detergent

First, you should check your screen manual and find out if your screen is coated with some special kind of chemical. If it is, then this is the perfect cleaning tool for it. What you need to do is to dissolve a little bit of dish detergent in water in a ratio 1:100. Then, take a clean microfiber cloth and dip it into the solution. Lastly, squeeze the excess fluid and swipe your screen with the solution.

  1. Vinegar

Make a mild cleaning agent by using vinegar.  The effective mixture of white vinegar and distilled water is the perfect solution for dirtier surfaces. Mix equal parts of water and vinegar and put them in a spray bottle. Afterward, spray your screen with the mixture and then wipe it with a cotton or microfiber cloth.

  1. Rubbing alcohol

You can use rubbing alcohol to clean your flat tv as well. First, wipe the screen with a dry cloth to remove any dust. Next, mix equal parts of water and rubbing alcohol. Soak another clean cloth in the liquid and apply it to your screen focusing on the stains. Last, wipe your TV once again with a clean dry cloth.

  1. Vaseline

If your screen has scratches then you should use Vaseline. Take a little bit of Vaseline and gently rub on the scratch. Then, wipe the screen with a dry cotton cloth.  The scratches will not fully disappear, but they will surely reduce! This trick doesn’t damage your flat screen, that’s why you can use it whenever it necessary.
