The human teeth need a wide array of minerals and nutrient, so as to stay healthy. Brushing your teeth, to make them look good and feel clean, is not enough in itself. Moreover, most of the commercial kinds of toothpaste, available on the market today, contain chemicals and substances that can compromise the dental health over time, causing decay and sensitivity, among other issues.
What Is Remineralization?
In simple terms, remineralization is the process of restoring the levels of minerals, necessary for good bodily function. In the case of teeth, this is the process through which the enamel is pumped with vitamins and minerals, to help improve the dental health, and to keep decay and other teeth conditions at bay.
Remineralization is not a process that takes place in the mouth and on the teeth only. It’s a process that affects the entire body. Thus, you must consume all the adequate nutrients, in the right amounts in your diet, or through supplements. These nutrients end up in our saliva, and through it, the remineralization process takes place, whether on the teeth, or the entire body.
What Are The Benefits Of Using Remineralized Toothpaste?
For many years, dentists believed that the process of tooth decay couldn’t be reversed. If you got a tooth decay, you would be have been advised to have a tooth filling or excavation.
In recent years, however, many people are finding that by using remineralized toothpaste, they are able to reverse the process of decay, and restore the health of their teeth.
Remineralized kinds of toothpaste also re-establish the health of the gums, thus protecting them from redness, inflammation, and bleeding.
While the acids from the foods we eat can affect the pH value of the saliva, leading to tooth decay, remineralizing toothpaste help restore the pH balance.
