Cucamelons are a sort of fruit that resembles a small grape-sized watermelon, and the taste reminiscent of cucumbers with a little note of lime. It has become very popular lately, and the good news is that you can grow it yourself without any major hassle. Grow Organic Cucamelon At Home
These unusual fruits are grown in the same way as ordinary cucumbers. Perhaps it’s even simpler since all gardeners know very well that cucumbers are very easy to grow. You do not need to plant them in greenhouses because they are quite resistant to pests, which makes them a great choice for organic farming.
For best results, it would be best to sow the seedlings in pots indoors in early spring (April or May). Later, transplant them into outdoor gardens or outdoor pots, depending on whether you live. If you live in the city transfer them in outdoor pots on your terrace, or if you live in the suburbs place them in your garden. Put the seedlings at 15 cm distance, and water them the same way as cucumbers. Therefore, your cucamelon will grow and develop perfectly.

You will need:
- A jar
- Cucamelons (enough to fit the jar)
- 1 tablespoon black pepper grain
- 2.25 teaspoon salt (kosher or sea salt)
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup of water
Preparation: First, take the cucamelons and cut them in halves. Then, transfer them into the jar along with the black pepper. According to your taste, you can add other spices such as rosemary, ginger, anise, etc. In a saucepan, mix the vinegar, water, and salt. Cook the liquid on high heat and pour it over the cucamelons. Make sure to leave a little bit of space at the top of the jar. Close the jar airtight and let it cool down. Once it’s cool, place it in your fridge.
