Instant Noodles Linked To Weight Gain, Chronic Inflammation, Parkinson’s And Alzheimer’s Disease

Did you know that instant noodles can seriously damage your health? This precooked, dried fast food is very popular at lunchtime or for dinner. And it’s suitable for people who have very little time or money at disposal.

Many people consider instant noodles a healthy dish, but in reality, we don’t know what we eat.

A study has been conducted, to show what’s happening in the stomach and digestive tract after we eat ramen noodles, a very popular variety of instant noodles.

As it turns out, ramen noodles do not decompose after several hours of digestion. The researchers used a small camera, the size of a pill, to record what’s happening in the digestive tract.

To start with, you’re putting additional pressure on your digestive tract. You’re making it work for many hours to decompose the processed food.

Also, when a certain food stays for so long in the digestive tract, it affects the absorption of nutrients. And, in the case of instant noodles, there’s also the large number of additives, including the toxic additive tert-Butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), which our bodies are to absorb and process.

TBHQ, a by-product in the oil industry, is a synthetic substance with antioxidant effects, but it’s not a naturally occurring antioxidant. This chemical slows down the process of oxidation of fats and oils, and therefore, it helps prolong the shelf life of fast foods.

We can often find this chemical in all sorts of fast foods. Some of those are frozen pizza, nuggets, peanut butter cups, cookies, and of course, instant noodles. But, you can also find it lacquers, cosmetic products, perfumes and pesticides, where it helps reduce the rate of evaporation and prolongs stability.

TBHQ is not considered a persistent toxic substance. This means that the human body can safely remove it so that is doesn’t bioaccumulate. But, if you ingest it through food, like instant noodles, then you’re risking a prolonged exposure. The most common health risks associated with TBHQ include:

  • Biochemical changes
  • Liver problems
  • Reproductive problems
  • Positive mutations in mammalian cells
  • Metabolic syndrome

So, if consider eating instant noodles, you should know that studies show that women who eat them are at a greater risk of suffering from metabolic syndrome than those who don’t eat this food, regardless of their general diet or exercising habits.

For example, those who eat instant noodles several times a week are 78 percent more likely to have metabolic syndrome. This includes a set of symptoms such as obesity, high blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides, and low HDL cholesterol levels. Having only 3 of these symptoms increases your risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

What you should also know is that people who eat ramen noodles have a significantly lower intake of essential nutrients, such as iron, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, vitamin A, and vitamin C.

What Else Can You Find In A Pack Of Instant Noodles?

Even though eating instant noodles every from time to time won’t kill you, you need to be careful. The main ingredients of this fast food are wheat flour, palm oil, salt, monosodium glutamate, seasoning, and sugar.

In the case of monosodium glutamate (MSG), it’s sufficient for you to know that it’s an excitotoxin. This means that it over-excites the nerve cells to the point of damaging or killing, causing brain dysfunction and damage in varying degrees. Sometimes, it may even trigger learning disabilities, as well as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and so on.

Thus, it’s advisable not to replace real food with instant noodles. Otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before the medical problems arise.
