Although we often use it, we often forget that the garlic is not only a perfect spice plant but also a real treasury of health. For millenniums, garlic has been used in different cultures as the most effective natural remedy for a variety of diseases.
Garlic contains essential oils, vitamins A, B1, B2 and C, and minerals like potassium, iron, sulfur, iodine, calcium, phosphorus, selenium. It contains amino acids, enzymes, polyols like insulin, adenosine and allicin and so on. All ingredients are in concentrated form, so garlic is healing in minimal amounts.
Depending on why we eat garlic, it’s important to choose fresh garlic. Fresh garlic is more effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. However, you can cook it together with other vegetables. Cooked garlic releases the ingredient ahoin, so it is effective against thrombosis, infarct, and stroke. For the protection of the heart and blood vessels, you should boil it, and for the prevention of cancer, it is recommended raw or fermented.
Today we will show you how to keep your garlic fresh and neat. When you store garlic, it’s important to braid it well and hang it in a dry and dark place.
So let’s begin.
How To Braid Your Garlic
For 13 garlic cloves, you need a thread of about 2 meters in length. The easiest way to do it is if you use 3 big garlic cloves, 3 medium-sized and 3 pairs (of 2) of smaller cloves.
First, connect the large garlic cloves, tie them together and connect them firmly (but not too tight, so you don’t rip off the string or thread). Then, put the first middle sized clove in the middle of the big ones and twist it using the thread, and add the other medium size and small cloves. Combine them (braid them like you do your hair) until you twist all 13 garlic cloves. The schemes is simple: just put one medium size garlic clove in the center, and interweave two smaller cloves on the sides. Once you finish with the braid and secure it, with the string in end.
You can use this method for onions as well. It is the perfect storage for both garlic and onion, it will require a little time and you will get perfectly neat vegetables.
