Homemade Magnesium Gummies
Magnesium works favorably on relaxing muscles and as a remedy against stress. In some cases, it is given as a supplement to anxious people. It works relaxing on the muscles, so you can sleep more easily.
Gelatin (an integral part of these gummy candies) acts against the inflammation and have a soothing effect.
These gummy candies are natural, safe, and better and more effective than sleeping pills.
From this dosage, you will get about 35 gummies.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 250 ml organic lemonade juice (without sugar)
- 5 tablespoons of magnesium citrate in powder (you can find this type of magnesium in pharmacies as a supplement, it has nice citrus flavor)
- 3 tablespoons of organic gelatin powder
- 1 tablespoon of organic sweetener – you can use any type of sweetener (honey, maple syrup, organic unrefined sugar, or stevia) you want we suggest to use organic honey
- A pinch of sea or Himalayan salt
In the bowl, mix the cold lemonade juice (make sure it is refrigerated) with the magnesium powder. It will become a little bit of foamy which is all right, first add one spoon of magnesium, mix it and wait for it to settle, then add the rest of it.
In a pan pour the magnesium juice liquid and then add the gelatin on top of it. Leave the liquid a few minutes so the gelatin starts to bloom. To dissolve the gelatin mix it with a spoon and you’ll get a gelatinous weird mixture. When the gelatin is completely dissolved, turn on the stove at a lower or medium temperature. Put the mixture on the stove and warm it up. Once it warms, the blend will become more liquidy. Then, you can add the sweetener and some salt. Whisk it a little bit, but not too much because the foam will reappear.
Pour the fluid into the bowl and measure – you need 3/4 cups of liquid (if there isn’t enough of the liquid, pour a little bit of the juice).
Add the liquid to silicone mold or in the baking tray (so you can cut the shapes you desire). Put it in the fridge for half an hour or longer – so it can harden. After removing it from the mold or, if you are using the baking tray, cut the shapes as desired.
You can eat up to 5 candies per day. If you have not taken magnesium supplements before, start slowly (one or two candies a day) because it has a laxative effect. Keep them in hermetically sealed containers in the refrigerator. They can last for a long time, but you’ll probably eat them quickly.
