Red Wine Is Just As Important As Exercise For Your Health

Do you want a healthy heart and to live longer? It’s easy! Mix exercise and red wine, moderately! These are the findings of a recent study conducted in Canada, at the University of Alberta.

Namely, a glass of wine, of 200ml for women and 300ml for men, would not hurt your health. On the contrary, it’s even advisable for good cardiovascular health. This is the message brought to us by this Canadian study.

The conclusions of this work are rather surprising. Drinking a little red wine regularly would protect the cardiovascular health of the consumers, provided that they simultaneously do a little physical exercise. Also, the results showed a noticeable improvement in good cholesterol (HDL) among red wine consumers who were physically active at least twice a week.

The Winning Duo For The Heart

Combining moderate consumption of red wine with regular physical exercise improves the markers of atherosclerosis (loss of artery elasticity due to fat accumulation, i.e. essentially bad cholesterol), suggesting that this combination protects against cardiovascular disease.

Several studies have highlighted the benefits of red wine, and more specifically resveratrol, a polyphenol contained in grapes, to treat Alzheimer’s disease, to fight against depression, or more unusual, to fight against caries.

Moderate exercise and red wine to live in better health, can you believe it?! I for sure do!

Resveratrol In Red Wine

Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant found in red wine that can help boost the human health. Here we show you 5 health benefits of drinking one glass of red wine on a regular basis.

1. Prevent Cardiovascular Disease

As we already mentioned, resveratrol might be an answer to your cardiovascular problems. Studies show that it reduces 40 percent of the risk of heart attack. Namely, its properties increase the diameter of the blood vessels, and thus, facilitate the circulation of blood.

2. Reduce The Risk Of Lung Cancer

Moderate consumption of red wine reduces the risk of lung cancer. In addition, it prevents fibrogenesis, lung dysfunction, and injury-induced cell apoptosis.

3. Improve Neuroprotective Effects

Relaxing in your home with a glass of wine would really help your health! It’s been discovered that an enzyme found in the grape skin can protect you from neuron damage and relieve stress, improve cognitive dysfunction, abrogate depression, and improve learning.

4. Treat Erectile Dysfunction

Men who drink red wine regularly, in moderate amounts, are less likely to experience erectile dysfunction. All the credit goes to the resveratrol, which helps improve the arterial blood pressure, and therefore, improves sperm count and motility.

5. Boost The Visual System

Studies show that resveratrol can help you protect your eyes from diabetic cataract and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

Drinking wine is just as healthy as going to the gym. Science says so.
