Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is produced by the fermentation of raw apple juice. When you go out shopping, it’s best to always choose natural and organic vinegar, which does not contain any additives.
During the process of fermentation, the natural sugar from the apples decomposes, which the help of bacteria and yeast. Thus, we first get alcohol, and then vinegar.
Usually, apple cider vinegar is sold unfiltered and unpasteurized. So, when we open a bottle, it oxidizes over time and becomes dark brown.
Also, if you notice sediment at the bottom of the bottle, don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. This sediment mostly consists of acetic acid bacteria, and it’s traditionally referred to as ‘mother of vinegar’.
