Pizza Shouldn’t Be Your Guilty Pleasure Anymore: The Low-Calorie Homemade Gluten And Flour-Free Pizza Dough

Do you like to make a pizza at home, but you are always annoyed by buying a dough that is thick and full of carbs? Most pizza doughs contain gluten and on top of that can make you gain weight. Now it’s a good time to learn to make homemade gluten and flour free pizza dough!  Your homemade pizza will be perfect with this dough, and your family and friends will surely notice the difference!

If you are allergic to gluten or gluten intolerant, this is the perfect recipe for you. This is a simple, healthy and most importantly gluten-free recipe for pizza.

Gluten-free flour can be quite expensive and those who are allergic rarely use it to make a pizza. So there is a solution for all pizza lovers allergic to gluten and those who don’t want to gain a few extra pounds – the dough of cauliflower.

Homemade Cauliflower Dough For Pizza

For this recipe you will need:

  • One small cauliflower
  • Two eggs
  • Two minced garlic cloves
  • 200 grams shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • One teaspoon of dried oregano


First, preheat the oven to 200C. Take one large baking pan and place one baking sheet on the pan, so the dough doesn’t stick to the pan. Next, separate the fresh cauliflower from the head and put them in a food processor. Pulse until the cauliflower turns into crumbs (almost like rice texture). You will need about 4 cups of these crumbs.

In a large bowl mix the cauliflower crumbs with the eggs, garlic, spices, and cheese. Then, split the mixture into two equal parts, and distribute one portion per each baking sheet to get a round shape of a pizza.

Cook the cauliflower dough in the oven for 25-30 minutes, and then remove it. The dough should have golden almost brown color and should be crispy. Next add the pizza toppings (you can put pieces of mozzarella, cherry tomato slices, and olives), and continue to bake another 5-8 minute or until the mozzarella starts to melt.

Remove it once again from the oven, let it cool down a bit and serve. Who knew that pizza can be delicious and healthy at the same time? We didn’t, but we will try this recipe immediately and so should you.
