Turmeric comes from the ginger family and has an aromatic hot, mildly bitter and resinous taste.
Turmeric Has The Same Effect On The Body Like Light Exercising
The miraculous Indian spice literally can replace exercise! Moreover, this powerful plant has an incredible effect on our health as well. So hurry up, and put it in your daily menu as soon as possible!
A large number of scientific medical studies have long established the exceptional properties of turmeric on the cardiovascular system. A study published in the Nutrition Research newspaper found that curcumin, the main polyphenol in turmeric, has the same effect on cardiovascular function just like a mild aerobic workout.
The aerobic workouts in the study were of medium intensity and longer duration. These workouts include bike riding, aerobics, fast walking, slow running or running on the treadmill, as well as various cardio exercises.
The study that lasted 8 weeks included only women who were divided into two groups. Before the study, experts examined the condition of their vascular system was, and they focused on the endothelial layer of cells on the surface of the blood vessel, which is an important indicator of arterial elasticity and function of the entire vascular system.
One group of women each week had aerobic training exercises for an hour minimum 4 times a day, under expert supervision. Participants in the second group did not exercise and each day took 150 milligrams turmeric extract.
After the testing, it was found that regular turmeric, just like aerobics, improves the endothelium. This development was equal in both groups, meaning that turmeric can be used in the future as a nutrient to prevent dysfunction of the entire vascular system.
Experts, however, warn that working out should never be replaced with some “supplements”. Nevertheless, every woman should include exercises as well as turmeric in her everyday life for a better cardiovascular health.
